- The context is THOR's terminology. In THOR a "message base" can
- be anything from a Fidonet "echomail area" to an Internet "newsgroup".
- I.e. the private term "message base" is broader than the universal
- term "newsgroup".
-
- If THOR's fathers were to let the program change terminology every time
- the user went from one system type to another, some of the idea of
- handling all the different mail types in a single program would be lost.
- The GUI would become inconsistant.
-
- BTW, "newsgroup" is a very confusing and misleading term in the first
- place :-)
-
- I agree that we must stick to the term given when we discuss the
- topic "newsgroup" itself, so that we all know what we are talking about,
- but there's absolutely no reason to think bad of a program just because
- it has it's own term for a concept broader than "newsgroup".
-
- EOD on my part.
